Bhavna Kakar is the founder and director of Gallery Latitude 28 in New Delhi. With several years of experience in arts management, writing, editing and curating, Bhavna established the contemporary art space Latitude 28 that has an eclectic mix of artists from all over South Asia. She is also the editor and publisher of TAKE on art, a bi-annual magazine that tries to build accessible, contemporary and global discourses on the arts with a special focus on South Asia. In late 2018, she collaborated with Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council, New Delhi, to initiate the Art Writers' Award, the first award in the region that focuses not just on visual arts, but includes other fields such as photography, design, architecture, theatre and so on. Bhavna has also spoken and participated in various forums on Indian contemporary art, art management and South Asian art in India and abroad. She has also beenpart of the Art Basel Hong Kong Conversations in 2018 and 2019.
